  • The High School students must be a resident of Clay, Union, or Towns County pursuing a higher education as an art major.
  • The Young Harris Student must be persuing an art related major at Young Harris College.
  • The student must submit an art portfolio by April 18, 2010.
  • The application must be postmarked by April 18, 2010 to be considered for the upcoming academic term.
  • Three letters of recommendation should be submitted to the scholarship committee. No more than one may be from a teacher. A relative of the applicant is not eligible to submit a letter of recommendation.
  • The student should submit a typed essay outlining their career goals and stating how this scholarship would be beneficial in achieving those goals.
  • The office of the High School Guidance Counselor should provide the MAA scholarship committee with the student’s official high school transcript.
  • Applicants may be requested for an interview.

The award will be paid directly to the school of choice for the upcoming academic term. The $1,000 scholarship award will be separated. $500 will be used toward the first semester and $500 will be used toward the second semester. If the scholarship recipient chooses not to attend school or will not be an art major, the balance of the scholarship will be returned to the MAA, Inc.
